The Nigeria-Pakistan Trade Mission is a collaborative initiative between the Economic Trade and Investment Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the African Center for Asia +B Studies, and other organizations, aimed at upscaling Nigeria’s concentric economic diversification initiative through engagement with Pakistan and the global south. The mission is targeted at attracting and facilitating business investments and job creation, raising awareness about the wide range of opportunities and enabling vital direct connections for a stronger Afro-Asia relation and broad global solidarity for economic and cultural cooperation among developing countries.
The mission will focus on priority sectors such as Cotton, Textiles, and Garments (CTGs), Aviation, the Blue Economy, Agriculture, and Pharmaceuticals/Health, with potential sectors including IT/Digital Economy, Education, and Agriculture. Specific activities and itineraries during the mission will include facilitated G2G, G2B, and B2B meetings with participating sector authorities, delegation meetings with the Chairman of the Higher Education Commission, establishment and launch of the Nigeria-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce/Business Council, and agency, company, industry, and leisure tours.
Participation in the mission is delegate-funded. The mission provides an avenue for organizations and agencies to establish pre-facilitated Joint Venture Agreements, bilateral opportunities, and commercial and social branding. It also offers the opportunity to showcase business corporate services and products in relation to Nigeria’s National Development Plan and National Agenda. The Pakistan High Commission in Nigeria is providing consular support for all delegates, including assistance with diplomatic visa documentation.
Overall, the Nigeria-Pakistan Trade Mission is an excellent opportunity for stakeholders to expand bilateral engagements between Nigeria, Pakistan, and Asia, establish Nigeria as a trade and investment hub for Pakistan and Asia, and contribute to the government’s strategies for delivering a better future.
